Hub for Applied Bioinformatics

The Hub for Applied Bioinformatics (HAB) aims to create a dynamic and collaborative bioinformatics community providing a supportive environment where individuals at various career stages and with diverse backgrounds receive support for their bioinformatics projects. We offer a research-oriented bioinformatics support where senior bioinformaticians provide the experience and expertise necessary to complement and collaborate with researchers’ specific needs.

About the HAB

Research-oriented Bioinformatics support

At the HAB we are proud to offer a research-oriented bioinformatics core, where senior bioinformaticians provide the experience and expertise needed to support researchers in a tailored fashion. We are able to provide different type of support to scientists at different stages of a research project, from the experimental design and grant writing to data processing, analysis and management.

Our aim is to work together with your team to provide dedicated support and guidance to help you achieve your research goals.
To ensure we provide a fair service across the Faculty, a steering committee with a representative of each school of the Faculty of Life Science and Medicine is going to assist us in choosing projects should the demand exceed our capabilities.

Costing Bioinformatician time in a grant application

For research-oriented bioinformatics support a %FTE of our senior bioinformaticians is costed into grants (the % varies based on amount of work required) and support the bioinformatics side of the project from grant writing to publication as they are part of
that research group.

Work packages are available based on the need of the project.

With this option we can take care of the entire analytical process, starting from raw data and guiding you through all downstream analyses. This includes customising analysis pipelined customised to your specific project requirements. Additionally, we’ll schedule
meetings to discuss your analyses, ensuring that we fully understand your research goals and objectives.
